Economic Development Department

Economic Recovery Initiative (ERI)

CCD’s Economic Recovery Initiative is a 24-month project that will focus on the regional economic recovery in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Project goals are to bring resources to the region during these challenging times and create a long-term resiliency plan to strengthen the region when facing future disasters.

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)

CCD is required by EDA to maintain a CEDS in order to qualify as an Economic Development District (EDD) in Oregon.  CCD works with public and private entities to develop this document, which includes an inventory of possible projects, needs, and ideas, in a formal and agreed upon way.

The Economic Development Department was established in February 2022 to provide oversight and coordination of economic development in the region. The department supports entrepreneurs, small businesses, minority-owned businesses (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, veterans, disabled, women, and low-socioeconomic status), municipalities, and nonprofits in Coos, Curry, and Douglas counties. This includes providing expertise in financing, applied research, workforce solutions, and technical assistance that will encourage investment in the community to enhance the lives of citizens. The Economic Development Department works with CCD’s Community Development Department and Finance Department; as well as local and regional partners to support collaborative strategies.
